Following his victory at the 2025 USA SUP Nationals, SUP surfer Anthony Maltese has released a new edit showcasing his preparation for the ISA World SUP & Paddleboard Championship in El Salvador.
The video brings together a collection of training sessions filmed across a range of conditions, from clean peeling waves to wind-affected surf, offering a realistic look at the variety of conditions competitive surfers need to be ready for when representing their country on the world stage.
Rather than focusing on a single standout session, the edit highlights the consistency and adaptability required to compete at the highest level. There are plenty of strong performances throughout, with Maltese demonstrating confident rail work, critical positioning and a smooth, powerful style across a variety of wave types.
For aspiring SUP surfers, one of the most interesting aspects of the video is seeing how elite competitors prepare for major international events. The ISA World Championships often reward versatility, with competitors needing to perform across whatever conditions are delivered during the event window.
Maltese earned his place on Team USA after taking the national title and this edit provides an insight into the work being put in ahead of the world’s biggest SUP surfing competition.
If you’re looking for a dose of high-level SUP surfing, this one is well worth a watch.
