In this first look video I unpack some very nice new paddles, and give you my first thoughts and impressions of some of the race, touring, surf and foil paddles from Starboard and Black Project.

Interesting short. Looking forward to the actual real life comparisons as I’m in the market to buy a top of the range medium/longer distance touring paddle. Not sure about a 1 piece vs 3 piece though due to expected travel to paddle locations. BP website mentions SynergyX in 3 piece, but it doesn’t show as a buying option (yet?). Would like to understand trade-offs in terms of stiffness at this end of the spectrum. I would imagine delta’s are way smaller than for budget ranges?
Hey Marcel, 3pc paddles are really good now and usually stiffer then 1pc paddles, but heavier. I have just finished a review of the Starboard Velocity which is a very nice paddle and could be perfect for what you want. I guess the biggest down side with 3pcs is the extra cost over 1pc paddles. Theres a few videos about paddles coming out over the next few weeks. Have a watch but any other questions after please ask.. thanks Reuben
