Japan has taken the SUP surfing world by storm on the first three days of competition for the 2023 Gran Canaria Pro-Am with Kapono Fukuda and Kaede Inoue retaining their APP Junior World Titles, alongside Taka Inoue and Kaede Inoue taking the Longboard SUP Titles for Men & Women.
Day 2 of the Gran Canaria sees epic Longboard SUP action, as Taka Inoue takes victory over 2022 World Champion Leco Salazar. Kaede Inoue dominated both SUP longboard and U18 regular SUP divisions earlier this week with another impressive performance here at La Cicer. As reigning World Champion from 2022, and leading Lady from last year’s mixed Men & Women SUP Longboard division, there was no doubt that Kaede was the one to beat at this year’s Gran Canaria Pro-Am. Kapono Fukuda retains his APP Junior World Title with another impressive performance this year.
Next call will be on Sunday 26th November at 6:45am GMT, with a new NW swell forecast to come in that morning, as the action moves to the now celebrated righthand point break of EL Lloret and we anticipate another spectacular close to the 2023 APP World Tour.
