Foiling really does give the paddler more freedom and speed, making oceans with swell and wind a big playground too. Foiling has got easier for sure, with better designed more controllable foils, and boards that are easier to paddle and get the foil up to flying speed. But it’s still a side of our sport that isn’t easy and requires plenty of water time, gear and commitment to learn and master.
This video of Ben Tillier in Noumea / New Caledonia shows you what you can do if you put the time into mastering foiling. Every little wave in the ocean can be linked up bump by bump, giving you the endless glide and one big playground.
Ben is using a Foil Taaroa Noé – 80 cm height with an Up Front Wing 1750 prototype. The board is an Elix FW1-X All round board for Windsurf Windfoil, SUPsurf, and SUPfoil.
