Lake Garda, Italy, provided ideal conditions for the SFT Downwind SUP World Cup during Foiling Week, held from June 26 to 29, 2025. Competitors embarked on a 6-mile downwind race from the northern tip of the lake, utilizing the region's classic southbound breeze and rolling bumps. The event featured two divisions: traditional SUP Foil boards and Foil Drive-assisted setups.
In the SUP Foil Division, Switzerland’s Robert Von Roll narrowly defeated Austria’s Jurij Scheibler in a closely contested race. Meanwhile, in the Foil Drive Division, France’s Philippe Axmann secured victory ahead of Dutch competitor Dominic Hoskyns. The race concluded with an enthusiastic shoreline crowd welcoming the riders, celebrating their endurance and skill.
This event highlighted the Surf Foil World Tour’s commitment to evolving foil disciplines, blending athletic performance with the spirit of exploration.
