How would you compare the new shark surf plus to the old Honu Bondi which you guys did a previous video on? ( 2021 version – new ones not available in UK but i have seen the older 9’3 x 31 x 4.7). For reference although an experienced paddler new to sup surf. 85kg. Old Honu Bondi going for £478 so not much price difference with the shark sup plus. Cheers guys
Hey Steve. Oh good question the original Bondi was a great board, nice and light good fin placement. But the newer shark has a slightly more aggressive rocker line which helps in surf. I am jogging my memory about the older Bondi I have to say 😉 But if you are just wanting it to surf in up to ‘waste to chest’ high 3 to 4′ then I think both the board shapes will be fine. If you wanted to surf in bigger waves I would go for the shark and its rocker line BUT… at your weight, I think… Read more »
Cheers Bondi, that all makes sense and kind if where I was at with it. Do you think the bigger shark at 32″ wide with its rocker and stiffness would trump the older bondi though for all the points youve made above and better for bigger waves? Thanks again, Steve
Ok yes this is a good point. Sorry I forgot then did a thicker one. Yes I would now go for the shark SUP if at a good price. The rocker,width, thickness and tail edge runner would work well for you. Sorry again forgot about the different sizes they did. Go for it.
