The European SUP League (ESL), Europe’s premier stand-up paddleboarding racing circuit, has announced a change of dates for its inaugural season finale. The event will now take place on 29–30 November 2025 at Praia do Ouro in Sesimbra, Portugal, bringing together the continent’s top SUP athletes for a thrilling conclusion to the first-ever European SUP League season.
About the European SUP League (ESL)
Launched in 2025 by the European Surfing Federation, the ESL provides a structured competitive platform for SUP racing across Europe. The league combines high-level competition with community engagement, aiming to elevate the sport, support athletes, and foster a strong European paddling community. The inaugural season has featured multiple events across Europe, showcasing elite talent, fostering local participation, and promoting SUP racing as a professional sport.
The 2025 Finale – Sesimbra, Portugal
The season finale in Sesimbra promises to be a landmark event:
Location: Praia do Ouro, Sesimbra, Portugal
Dates: 29–30 November 2025 (rescheduled)
Prize Money: €8,000 for top performers in the Open divisions
Competition: Racing across multiple categories including Elite Men, Elite Women, and amateur classes
Athletes from across Europe will compete for overall league titles in a festival-style environment designed to celebrate SUP racing. Spectators can expect high-performance racing on the water combined with a vibrant onshore atmosphere, bringing together fans, athletes, and the broader paddling community.
Reason for the Change
The date adjustment ensures the ESL Finale does not conflict with other major international SUP events, allowing athletes and fans to fully experience the season’s climactic showdown.
