Savoie Paddle Club took on the French SUP Race Championships at short notice, bringing 151 athletes to Aix-les-Bains from 23–25 October. Around 40 club volunteers helped put on the event at Lac du Bourget. Once racing got underway, wind and rain meant the race committee had to rethink formats, distances and start times, working with athlete representatives as conditions changed.
Lola Pelletier won the women’s open long-distance and technical races, with Julia Risso finishing second in both. Risso reversed the result in the sprint, taking the title ahead of Pelletier and Clémence Lepoutre. That gave the two paddlers the top two places in all three open disciplines.
The men’s open titles went to three different paddlers. Eliott Bry won the long distance ahead of Ludovic Teulade and Greg Limelette. Limelette took the sprint, with Bry second, while Teulade won the technical race ahead of Limelette and Simon Ackermann. For Bry, the senior distance title came just weeks after he won junior European gold in both the technical and long-distance races in Melilla.
