White water SUP safety gear / what should you take?

White water SUP is a great fun, high adrenaline SUP discipline … but it doesn’t come without its risks. Moving water, rocks & other obstacles, and water features such as weirs & eddys are just some of the potential dangers or white water SUP.

It’s definitely not a SUP discipline to get into without guidance, paddling experience and the right safety equipment.
In this video Reuben explains what safety equipment you should be taking with you when white water paddling and why, highlighting some of the great products available from Palm Equipment. A helmet, sturdy shoes, PFD, quick release leash, throw-line, knife and whistle are all things you should consider.
Remember to always check what the rules and safety guidelines are for river paddling in your area, because they vary around the world.
