Paolo Marconi is the 2022 Last Paddler Standing champion after paddling non stop for 48 hours in a loop in Sarasota, Florida.
About: Last Paddler Standing is an endurance SUP race taking place at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, FL. Unlike any other paddle race in the world, Last Paddler Standing is a race of stamina and strategy. Racers will paddle a 3.33 mile loop course, starting and finishing the loop within a one-hour period. The next loop will begin on the hour and the race goes until only one paddler is left standing.
This year, Paolo Marconi from Italy took the top honours in what was an incredible achievement and display of mental strength. After 48 hours on the water, fellow paddler John Knippers had to pull out, leaving Marconi all alone on the course.
SUPracer covered the entire event on a live stream if you want to relive the action.
