The 2021 Denmark SUP National Championships were held over the weekend and Casper Steinfath took home the gold.
It was a nervous start for Casper Steinfath as he returns to SUP racing after a year or so out of competition. His biggest rival, Christian Andersen (a.k.a The Polar Bear), has been training hard and pushed the limits of both competitors over the weekend.
Casper won both the technical and sprint SUP events and Christian had to finish a very worthy second against the six time world SUP champion. But The Polar Bear came back for the win in the 7.5km distance race.
In the women’s division, Caroline Küntzel took home the gold in the technical racing and the sprints showcasing a dominant performance in the water.
Well done to all 80 competitors over the weekend and SUP Saeby & Dansk Surf & Rafting Forbund for putting together the event.
