GBSUP Unveils New Approach to National Racing for 2027

GBSUP has outlined its plans for the 2027 season, with five core national venues, revised race formats, season-pass options and continued support for junior paddlers. The announcement sets out a more concentrated national programme, with the organisers focusing on event delivery alongside four priorities: juniors, technology, community and sustainability. The launch includes plans for two-day, short-course formats and integrated Sprint Championships, with full event information available through the official calendar.

Season passes return

Racers can choose a three-, four- or five-event pass, including the British Championships, with savings increasing for those committing to more events.

PassPriceAdvertised saving
Three events£200£25
Four events£255£45
Five events£300£75

The passes are available to eligible High-Performance and Challenge Fleet paddlers. Racers must select their events when purchasing, and each pass is assigned to an individual athlete profile.

Support for younger paddlers

Standard National Series entry remains free for the U12 and U15 junior categories, while the launch also outlines subsidised junior Championships entry and plans for UK Youth Championships.

Leisure and free-entry junior categories sit outside the season-pass offer, so paddlers should check the relevant fleet information before booking.

Updated digital hub

The updated My GBSUP Hub brings racer profiles and entry management together, with club leaderboards also forming part of the new season’s plans.

For paddlers preparing their 2027 race calendar, the official website provides the latest event listings, fleet definitions, rules and booking information.
