Soto and Cantoral Claim Sprint and Technical Doubles at Elche Paddle Festival

Alexia Soto and Sergio Cantoral completed a dominant weekend at the 2026 Elche Paddle Festival, winning both the Sprint and Technical races at Arenales del Sol in Spain. The second edition of the festival took place across 29–30 August, with racing contributing points towards the Spanish ProSUP Sprint and Technical leagues.

Cantoral won Saturday’s Open Men’s Sprint ahead of Fernando Pérez and Rubén Cantoral. The same three paddlers filled the podium in Sunday’s Technical Race, with Cantoral again taking the victory.

Soto produced an equally impressive double in the women’s competition. She won the Sprint ahead of Inés Blin and Teresa Criado before adding the Technical Race title, where Nuria Chiquero finished second and Blin placed third.

The event attracted paddlers from across Spain alongside international competitors from the UK, France and Poland. Conditions allowed the organisers to complete the full competition and public activity programme.

A total of €4,000 in prize money was distributed across the Open Men’s and Women’s categories, with equal prize allocations for both fields.

Alongside the elite racing, the festival included categories ranging from Under-8 through to Master, Grand Master and Kahuna. A Rookie category also provided a route into competition for less-experienced paddlers.

More than 150 participations were recorded across the festival’s free public activities, which included introductory SUP sessions, inclusive paddling, Polynesian canoeing and beach yoga.

The event was organised by Club Deportivo Alicante Playa y Mar as part of Elche’s programme as the 2026 Mediterranean Capital of Sport.
