The 2026 European SUP League continued in Poland with the fourth stop of the season, as the ODRA SUP Cup brought technical and sprint racing to Rybnik.Three days of competition formed part of the wider ODRA SUP Festival, with the elite European SUP League racing focused on the Technical Race and explosive 200-metre Sprint. A total prize purse of €6,000 was split equally between the two disciplines.
Alba Frey Takes the Double
Alba Frey was the standout athlete in the women’s competition, completing a clean sweep of the weekend with victories in both the Technical Race and 200m Sprint.
The Spanish paddler opened with victory in Saturday’s technical race before returning to take the sprint final on Sunday.
Nuria Chiquero finished runner-up in both disciplines, while Poland’s Martyna Drobny took third in the sprint in front of the home crowd. Fellow Polish paddler Maja Bauerek also finished inside the top four.
Cantoral and Freens Share Men’s Victories
The men’s competition produced a close battle between Sergio Cantoral and Donato Freens, with the pair swapping the top two positions across the weekend.
Freens took victory in the Technical Race ahead of Cantoral, before the Spanish paddler reversed the result in Sunday’s 200m Sprint.
Italy’s Filippo Mercuriali completed the sprint podium in third, while young Spanish paddler Rubén Cantoral also impressed with third in the Technical Race and fourth in the Sprint.
The results gave both Sergio Cantoral and Donato Freens a victory and second place across the two disciplines, highlighting just how closely matched the men’s racing was in Poland.
More Than Elite Racing
Alongside the European SUP League competition, the ODRA SUP Festival included a five-kilometre Fun Race, recreational racing, SUP Yoga and a team Dragon Race.
It was the ODRA SUP Cup’s first appearance as an official European SUP League event and marked the fourth stop of the 2026 season following Santa Pola, Taranto and Zurich.
The European SUP League now heads into its summer break before returning to Isla Cristina, Spain, on 5–6 September for another weekend of Sprint and Technical racing.
