Tarifa, Spain once again delivered classic conditions for downwind paddling, as a small group of riders gathered for a week-long SUP camp in March 2025. Check out the highlights from the weekend.
Organised by Ocean Paddle Camp in partnership with Downwind Center Tarifa, the week focused on downwind progression in one of Europe’s most reliable wind locations. Known for its consistent trade winds and open-water runs, Tarifa provided ideal conditions for linking bumps and building confidence in moving water.
Nine paddlers took part in the camp, working through daily sessions on the water alongside time off the water to review conditions and technique. With steady wind throughout the week, participants were able to experience repeated downwind runs in a range of conditions.
The camp brought together a mix of experienced paddlers, offering a focused environment for improving skills while experiencing one of Europe’s most established downwind destinations.
