Welcome to our collection of the biggest news and stories that have taken place in the SUP world from the previous month. Let's recap what happened in October 2023.

Pan Am Games - 2023 Result

The Stand-up paddle (SUP) segment of the 2023 Pan Am Games concluded at Punta de Lobos beach in Pichilemu, 200 kilometers southwest of Santiago, crowning two two-time champions: Colombia’s Isabella Gomez in the SUP surf women’s category and the USA’s Connor Baxter in the SUP race men’s category. Joining them with gold medals are two more USA athletes: Candice Appleby, winner of the women’s SUP race category and Zane Schweitzer, winner in the men’s SUP surf category.

EuroSUP - 2023

The EuroSUP 2023 Championships were held earlier this month where the best SUP athletes from Europe compete for the win in SUP surfing and racing disciplines.

The SUP surfing was held over 3 days with French surfer Benoit Carpentier dominating the final. Spain’s Alazne Arrucoechea was surfing 100% all week and emerged victorious in the women’s SUP surfing.

In the SUP Sprint event, Portuguese champion Tomás Lacerda delivered an emotional win, thrilling the home crowd with his remarkable performance. Melanie Lafenêtre of France claimed gold in the women’s sprint, while Italy dominated the junior races with Cecilia Pampinella and Nicolo Ricco securing wins.

France took the two highest spots at the men’s long distance race podium through the efforts of Clément Colmas and Ethan Bry with third place going for Spain’s Aron Sanchez while Danish Christian Andersen got the copper for fourth.

In the women’s race, the Spanish flag ruled, with Duna Gordillo winning the gold and Esperanza Barreras getting silver. Swiss Anna Tschirky and French Iona Rivet completed the podium in third and fourth, respectively.

In the Juniors, France’s Vaic Garioud won, with Nicolo Ricco, from Italy and Spanish Joan Garcia, with silver and bronze. English paddler Hector Jessel was fourth.
The Junior girls was won by Italian Cecilia Pampinella, Alexia Soto, from Spain was second, Julia Risso got the bronze and Josephina Karst from Germany was the fourth.

APP World Tour - Busan 2023

Juliette Duhaime and Fernando Perez are crowned the overall champions at the Busan SUP Open, stop number three on the 2023 APP World Tour in Korea.
