Welcome to our collection of the biggest news and stories that have taken place in the SUP world from the previous month. Let's recap what happened in September 2023.

ISA World SUP & Paddleboard Championship - 2023 Result

The ISA World SUP & Paddleboard Championship concluded on Sunday 1st October with a week-long event for SUP Surfing, SUP & Prone Technical and Long Distance, SUP Sprints and the Team Relay race.

Team France secured their 3rd team Gold medal in a row with dominant performances in all disciplines.

Max Torres and Lucia Cosoleto won the SUP Surfing. Esperanza Barreras and Shuri Araki won both the Technical SUP racing and the Long Distance. Judit Verges and Julian Marticorena won the prone technical race. David Buil and Yurika Horibe won the long distance prone. Cecilia Pampinella & Vaic Garioud won the junior technical races. Noic Garioud and Melanie Lafenetre won the SUP Sprints.

World Record For Longest Distance on SUP - 2,677.34km / 1,663.62Miles

Peter Charlesworth has achieved an outstanding feat in SUP by breaking the record for the Longest Journey paddled with a distance of 2,677.34 km (1,663.62 mi).

Achieved by Peter Charlesworth (Australia), from 4 March to 11 June 2023, he paddled the longest journey by stand up paddleboard (SUP) along the Murray River in Australia. Peter rowed the length of the river while also circumnavigating each of the three main bodies of water along the way. He travelled solo and camped each night of the journey which took him a total of 2,677.34 km (1,663.62 mi),

SUP 11 City Tour - 2023

That’s it, the 5-day event is a wrap! Congrats to each and everyone who finished the event and has the 11 cities cross around the neck! Both the 220km non-stop and 5 day race has been completed. Also congrats to all the day and weekend paddlers. Last but not least, also big thumbs up for the kids who paddled the last 7k of the stage today.

UK National Race Champs - 2023

Hector Jessel and Michelle Kimbler were crowned the 2023 UK National racing champions following the one-day racing event held at Bray Lake by GB SUP on the 17th September.
