2023 SUP Race Festival Scharbeutz – Euro Tour SUP

The racing was tight & intense a we had a unique anecdote that blew everyone away.

Australian Michael Booth had a game plan today and when the entire field made a mistake on buoy 2 & went directly to the 3rd one. The Aussie continued doing the course on his own gaining an unsustainable lead and finished a minute clear of everyone, in a race where every second mattered. He also came in 4th on Heat#2 securing the overall win.

The Japanese powerhouse Shuri Araki finished an impressive 2nd after dominating the 2nd heat and coming in 1st of the lost pack in the first one. It was surely the best performance for Aaron Ssanchez in 3rd in a pure display of force at one of the biggest events of the year. Closing his best result too was Riccardo Rossi in 4th with two very consistent heats on his favourite race format. Closing out the Top5 was Noic Garioud edging out his teammate Connor Baxter by a merely 2sec.

The women’s racing was pretty drama free but very intense & close. Espe Barreras just refuses to loose this season and won both heats for the overall; no one can call her a long distance paddler any more. In 2nd Duna Gordillo continues her stellar performances with very consistent heats. In third was Cecilia Pampinella with two identical runs where the Junior showed that she’s one of the best at any start line. The ever consisten tAnna Tschirky in 4th continued her amazing run in front of Fiona Wylde in 5th with a great second heat barely edging out teammate Alba Frey.

On Sunday the action didn’t stop, with a day packed with activities and the highly anticipated Everyone’s Race being a huge success with great participation by all.
