The SUPboarder team aswell as afew guest SUPboarder testers recently put their white water SUP skills to the test at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham’s man made white water course.
All experienced stand up paddlers but with limited or no white water paddling experience this was a different type of paddling weekend for everyone. So we all felt a bit nervous! But experienced white water paddler Beth Kirby showed us the key white water skills aswell as hidden dangers, and by the end of the weekend had us ferry gliding, breaking out of eddies and running afew rapids… mostly still standing!
It was so much fun and we will certainly be back for more.
If you haven’t already given white water SUPing a go you definitely should. Just make sure you have the appropriate paddling skills and equipment, and have a lesson to learn the basics first. White water can be a lot of fun, but remember also dangerous if not taken seriously.
