Excellent… looking forward to the review, I’m interested to know if the 4’11” would work for kite & prone foiling… as you’ve got a 5’3″ do you think you could get it in the surf or under a kite? cheers
This was the earliest we could get it … What size did you go for?

I have a 5,5 arriving next month… hopefully. Currently have a foil delivered from them which is making a lovely brew stand til I get my board to attach it to. 5m wing next week I hope.
Nice one guys – don’t understand Gong’s attitude to reviews, and that’s coming from a happy customer fully kitted up with their wings, board and foils. Are you including their wing (Pulse) in your wing mega test?
Likely that my next board will be a small inflatable so looking forward to your review…
Yeah we aren’t sure ether and no the wing is not coming to be tested ☹️. We did ask!

Looks awesome. Thanks for getting this out there… looking forward to the review post you testing it out! Looking to maybe get one my self as my first board!
Who knows, but let see if we can get you on the water with the perfect board. It might be a Gong.. we just dont know . Make sure to check out the Wing test at the end of October too if you haven’t got your wing yet. (if you are getting into that side of foiling)

I have a F-One 5’10” 125L rocket air. While it’s plenty stiff and I can Foil quite well on it. The main drawbacks are that it’s harder to get up on the foil compared to my 5’10” 110 Naish S25 hardboard; when the inflatable board goes underwater, it can stick and be difficult, whereas the hardboard seems to slide up to the surface; in swell/choppy water with a crosswind, the waves can push the inflatable board underneath you. Meaning it’s less stable in chop, especially if you are crossing the swell/wind direction. I think the Gong carbon plate with the… Read more »
Hey Glen Thanks for your feedback and comments on your gear. Whether your paddling, surfing or foiling an inflatable paddleboard I agree they always have that same sticky feeling on the water. Think it’s more to due to the material surface and how the water doesn’t release well from it. Also I’m a big fan of using and pumping straps to get up early, and obviously this doesn’t really work on inflatable paddleboard without 2 foot straps. We have a few more inflatable foil boards coming in so we will be doing quite a lot of reviews and testing on… Read more »
I have an hipe 7,5 . Really like the board. the thing you said about the screws damaging the board is ,not right . the different screws are for the different topplates (manufacturing year Of tYpe) you can never touch the board with the screws because you screw them in to foil and foot strap insertS.
how thick the board is , is on the carbon plate
pumping by hand just just an 12v car pump . You can get you’re wetsuit on while you’re board gets inflated.
Hi Olof, thanks for your feedback of the Gong hipe its always great to hear what the readers are feeling. Yes we understand and agree with you about the screw threads we were saying that before we had looked into the board set up completely. The set up is well made regarding the foiling attachment.
Yes I Have used it a few times now. I will be pulling the video together asap. The general feedback is good. But its a real shame there no back footstrap. For winging it works well for cruising around for sure.
Sorry video is live tomorrow… If your taking with a Wing then 5’5″. But is the surf a 6’5″ best for 80kg i think. Ask me again after you watch video. nice one… Thanks Reuben

Hi guys, this is great as I am looking to go into foilling and that was the one I was thinking for the board with an XL foil.
I do not understand why Gong are so against reviews.
I have been using their SUP for so long and they are great.
Thanks for that.

I let you know more , when there is more wind or waves . I am also planning to go supfoiling with the hipe.
Hey Rueben…. have you had a chance to try the HIPE yet? Super keen to hear your thoughts!!

Awesome. Looking forward to it!
Any news on the review of this board? Looking at this as a beginner board but not sure what length to go with. 5.5 or 6.5. (80kg)

Hi really look forward to watch the review. Is the 5’3 good also for sup foiling (I am 75kg). Thanks!
