I find if I get really low in surf stance, almost to the point of my back knee touching the deck, as I’m paddling it helps lower the C of G and somehow translates the paddle power into board speed even better to get into the wave. That and quick short strokes, and yeah that nice flat trim makes a big difference. Cheers Gary from NZ.
