Perfect video Reuben. My surfing wave is mostly a backside beach-break, and this summer it has been pretty gutless. Watching this video was really helpful in allowing me NOT to try to bottom turn on every wave, but to do the smaller carving turns like you are doing on this video.
Yeah like you have just said. Sometimes in gutless waves a bottom turn can kill speed and flow. Thats the problem with surfing every wave is different and it really is a feeling thing. But the hard bit is to make sure you get to know the right feeling not the wrong one. If it feels like a struggle or its being forced then its probably not right. Good comment Sean.
