I am an avid intermediate/advance SUP surfer. Currently, I am SUP surfing Starboard Airborn 7’10″x30 97L. I would like to begin SUP foiling, however, would like to segue into it by purchasing a 2-in-1 SUP surf/foil such as Sunova Eco, Naish Hover 100, etc.
My ultimate goal is to wing foil, but understand there are baby steps in achieving said goal.
Question #1: Which 2-in-1 SUP surf/foil would you recommend?
Question #2: What progression would you recommend that individuals go from SUP surfing to wing foiling?
Well… the board that we really got into foiling with was a Naish Hover but that doesn’t mean that the others wont work well too. I guess the biggest compromise really is what the boards feel like in the surf without a foil. They will have that very loose lively feel.. so a different board to your Airborn. Are you looking to keep this board as well? It would work well along side them. Reg learning. Many People find learning to wing foil easier than learning to Sup surf foil. Rueben, Thank you for your reply – it is received with extreme gratitude. Your entire response regarding learning validates my stepwise approach in which I would like to transition from SUP surfing to Wing Foiling. Onward to another related issue: I already sold my Airborn. I am leaning towards purchasing the 2-in-1 Naish Hover 100. Unfortunately, the city in which I live in, we do not have a SUP Demo program, thus spending 1425+ USD based on dimensions alone (7×28 100L) evokes trepidation.
