This retractable leash almost completely eliminates tangling of the leash around the foil. Developed by Blue Planet's Robert Stehlik, he takes us through some tips and maintenance in this video.
Blue Planet collaborated with Oceanus Technologies to develop an exclusive SUP Foil/ Surf Foil specific leash kit which is attached directly to a velcro waist belt and includes a nylon/ elastic shock cord. The advantages of this leash are that it will not get wrapped around the hydrofoil, it’s completely off the water and does not drag or bounce while paddling or foiling, it won’t stretch out like a coil leash, with the shock cord attached it’s 14′ long so the board is not close to you in a wipeout and it slowly reels the board back to you after a fall. The shock cord keeps the board at arm’s length, acts as a shock absorber, and when used with the shock cord, has no tension when paddling or winging while standing on the board.
Retractable SUP Foiling leash developed by Robert Stehlik, made by Oceanus Technologies. The retractable leash almost completely eliminates tangling of the leash around the foil, no more stretched out coil leashes or straight leashes getting tangled up. It also eliminates all leash drag when paddling and foiling. This kit includes a Oceanus retractable leash with an adjustable velcro waist band, neoprene backing, and elastic/ nylon shock cord. The adjustable waist belt comes in three sizes:
Small = 28 to 32″ waist
Medium = 32 to 36″ waist
Large = 36 to 40″ waist
