What we say
Beau took a liking this board straight away. The Go Surf is just super easy to surf, doing everything you want it to. The vee underneath the board makes it easy to transition from rail to rail when turning, the nose rocker helps for those later takeoffs and the outline shape plus flat deck gives this board a lot of stability. As a bonus, it nose rides extremely well. It feels just like a bigger longboard design and can be ridden by riders who weigh under 95kg.
This board is best suited for beginners getting into SUP surfing because it is just so easy to learn and progress with. However, intermediate riders would easily enjoy riding this and it is a board that you will for a long time as you can progress with it.

Our RCMD rider weight: Under 95kg
Board weight: 11.45kg
Tail width: 18cm
Fin set up: Quad + US Centre Box
Pros: We like just about everything on the Go Surf. The stability, manoeuvrability, flat deck, nose riding, size and weight are definite pros. Add in that the board can also be paddled on flat water.
Cons: The only downfall to the Lite Tech construction is that it doesn't have a tail pad kicker. We would recommend buying the Limited Series construction as the Blue Carbon can be expensive.
Consider buying if... You are getting into SUP surfing and want a board that you can progress and grow with. You would also buy this board as a family board for everyone to surf, paddle flat water, put the kids on or even the dog.

What the brand says
“Just go surf”
The 9’6” x 31″ GO Surf was designed for lighter riders and especially for women up to 95kg, offering a board that’s lighter to carry, has good glide and stability, and yet is totally nimble and responsive to turn in the waves.
The design of this model drew reference on other much loved Starboard designs, scaling down an Avanti outline, as well as using the rails and bottom shape of the popular Wedge range.
At 31” wide, the outline and flat deck gives solid stability to paddle at ease, yet the pulled in tail and thin rails make it very responsive to manoeuvre through turns.
The length gets into waves early and is fast to paddle back out to the sets, while still agile to swing the nose around in classic longboard style. For those looking for a board that can cruise, surf and is easy to transport, the GO Surf ticks all those boxes.
Beau you recommended a rider weight of 95 kg. Is that a recommendation for flat water ? I thought for surfing you can exceed the rider weight that is recommended for flat water ? Am I correct ?
Hi Cam, thanks for the comment. The recommendation is for both flat water and surfing. It really depends on ability if someone could exceed the rider weight recommended. As a heaver rider with lots of experience and advanced at surfing, a 110kg person would have no trouble riding this board. But the same 110kg person who has minimal surf experience would benefit from something a little wider. Hope that makes sense. Thanks.
Rick Weeks 🙂
Beau as an example of what you said, Rick Weeks is a big man on a little board and paddles like a ballet dancer 🙂 Thats what 60 years of surfing does to you I guess
Beau. would the Go surf be stable enough for the average paddler to use for fishing on a lake ?
Hey Cam, I will jump in here and say. As long as you haven’t got to much fishing gear on the board. I would say that it would work ok.
