It’s clear to see Aqua Marina have been working on big improvements to their SUPs in 2022. The new Aqua Marina Wave inflatable SUP surf board has become easier to use, mainly due to the new outline shape and new fin setup. Riders wanting a well priced surfing iSUP should consider looking at the Aqua Marina Wave this year.
Got a question about this product?
Our RCMD rider weight: 90kg
Board weight: 8.2kg
Fin set up: 2+1
Pros: Great new fin setup, which holds to the wave face. Well finished ISUP for the price. Easy to paddle in a straight line.
Cons: Lots of plastic in the packaging from new. The board still needs more rocker to surf in bigger waves. You are going to have to wash sand out of your click in fin setup, before and after use. A PVC tail edge would give the board even more grip when surfing. The handle is off balance.
Consider buying if... you are looking for an inflatable board to give SUP surfing a go, and you weigh up to 85kg.

What the brand says
Coming in with a stunning new look, the 2022 WAVE is designed for beginner to intermediate surf enthusiasts who want to easily catch waves and manoeuvre some turns without compromising on speed.
To significantly enhance the wave-riding performance, we refreshed the WAVE outline by providing a narrower nose that is much lighter to throw around through manoeuvres, and a squared tail to boost the turning ability. The larger nose rocker line is also improved to limit nose-diving and to catch wave after wave.
This year, we’ve also made some remarkable advances for WAVE’s fin system. Its industry leading thruster fin set up comes with an innovative easy “press and click” fin attachment. The newly add-on side fins are shaped differently for left and right to reach quick response. No matter what the surf condition is, it meets up your needs to customize for wave riding!
Good afternoon, I want to buy a SUP surf board. I am between the Aquamarina Wave 2022 and the Shark Surf 2022 9’2. What would be your recommendation, in terms of use, quality, etc.
Hey Benjamin, both those board are very much the same in the surf, but I like the new fins on the AQ wave a bit more. Unfortunately both the boards could do with more nose rocker. But is small waves they work ok.Thanks Reuben
Hi I’ve found this for a cracking price at Wiggle , I’m looking at getting a second isup so my son can ride with me he’s only 10 and probably about 35kgs will he be too light ? I would like to get in to surf supping and am around 95kgs am I too heavy as a novice for this board my current board is a Fanatic fly air pure 10’8, should I just use what I have currently and buy my son a kids isup or a smaller all-rounder he has taken to supping really well even on the… Read more »
Hey Tom I get your thinking. My thoughts are… The board for you in the surf will be on its limit for your weight. Because of its 4″ thickness really. For your son it could work as a good board. The best width really for him would be 28″ wide so it is a bit wider at 30″. In summary it will work for your son but not the fastest board to paddle but be nice and stable. For you it could work in the surf but not as easy as a wider surf SUP. But as you have a… Read more »
