Travel With A Paddle brings you 'Voices of SUP’, a series of interviews with inspirational people in the stand up paddle community. Their next guest is expedition paddler Donna-Lou Nixon who goes by the name Mother SUPer.
Mother SUPer is a truly inspirational SUP expedition paddler who has completed paddles in Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Austria, USA and Norway. In this video, we learn more about Donna-Lou, her background, why she started stand up paddling, what her top tips are for adventure paddling and much more.
Completely get your love of SUP Donna- Lou. I’m 63, got a couple of highly strung tendons, but when I get on my board and into the sea I pass through a door to another place. Seeing things and doing things I could never imagine. In the midst of a shoal of sea bream feeding. Skidding down the front of a wave with a wall of water tearing after me. I probably don’t clock up the hours or miles you do, but I do a few, and they give me such joy.
Thanks for sharing why SUP is your go to to escape the everyday. My mum (Donna-Lou) gets so much joy from it.
Beau,
Reuben should give your mom her own show. She is a solid individual. What starboard isup was she using ?
Thanks.
Haha that would be very entertaining. She was using an older Starboard Touring 14′ x 31″ on most adventures. Thanks
It looks like Starboard discontinued the 31 inch. Now you can get the 30 inch or 32 inch. I wonder what your mom thinks about these changes? Maybe she could review her board.
Yes, the 31″ was an older 2016 model I think. She recently used a Quroc All Water 13′ x 31″ and loved it. Might be good for her to chat about it in an interview we have coming with her. Thanks
