Interested to learn more about surfers ear. I’ve supped mainly in the sea since 2015 and windsurfed since the 80s, surfed in the 90s and back surfing again, and never heard about it until your post on Instagram. I did read that it’s only in water below 19C… which is surely all the UK every day of the year. So odd that it’s not a more widespread issue.
It seems it would be more of a widespread issue, but I guess everyone has a different reaction, or lead time into the bone growth. We’re learning more so keep an eye out for future references to it and also keep on top of the comments on Instagram and Facebook as the SUP community have some good stories and insights into it.

Thanks for the video! Would you mind sharing the social media references you mentioned, where you opened up the discussion on surfers ear and swimmers ear?
Thanks for another great video! I am a SUP surfer in Canada, so I go in very cold conditions. It’s been about 5+ years and no issue with my ears. However, I wear a hooded 5/4 from October-March. So I wonder if the hood offers some protection. I have noticed some of the prone surfers wear earplugs or Surf Ears. Looking forward to learning more about if and how surfer’s ear affects SUPers. Cheers!
Hey Jordan, Thanks for your feedback. I think hoods really do help. I guess its an a paddling in cold water

Looking forward to the foil and wing content. An “explain it like I’m 5” for foils would be great, around the aspect ratio, surface area, fuselage length and how that translates to lift, glide, manoeuvrability, pumping, etc. Simple subject really. 😛
Talking of innovation, have you seen the Triton T1 Monowing? Thoughts around winging and foil surfing? https://www.tritonfoils.com/
We have been playing around with loads of foils lately and have got some really great content coming out, so I hope it helps understand and guide everybody in the right direction. We have definitely learnt a huge amount 🙂
