Starboard Touring Lite Tech 12’6″x31″ (2020)

Starboard Touring Deluxe Double Chamber 12’6″x30″ (2020)
“Starboard Touring DDC is still the go to Touring iSUP for riders over 75kg... it has it all!”
Starboard Touring Deluxe Single Chamber 12’6″x30″ (2020)
Nice review. The inflatables look very nice. Few questions:
How much hassle was it to pump up a second chamber? The last thing I’d want to do once I’d pumped the first chamber!
Was the inflatable front bungee big enough for a red deck bag? The bungee looks smaller in photos compared to some other brands.
I see Starboard make a 12 6 touring board that doubles as a wind surfer. Have you guys got any experience with these boards? I can’t actually see any for sale anywhere but it sounds like a cool concept.
Hi Mike. The second chamber takes seconds to pump up, so no hassle there. I haven’t got a Red deck bag here but pretty sure the bungees will take them without a problem.
We have used touring windsurfing SUPs from other brands and they are definitely great for multisport use. Having the extra fin box does slow the board down a little bit but if you want to get into windsurfing it is a compromise worth having.
Did you do a head to head review between the Starboard Touring Delux and the Red Paddle Co Voyager? Would really be interested to see them being compared. Doubting between those two as for my next purchase. Looking for a board that is easy to store, goes fast for short trips (my standard round is 10-15km which I do a few times a week) and touring (multi day).
For upgrades, would they fit with a Black Project fin?
We will be doing a full head to head as part of our SUPboarder PRO head to head tests next spring, both these boards will be included. When looking at these two boards now, the Yoyager 12’6 is a more stable and slower platform mainly due to its outline. The 13’2 is a much faster board but still a very parallel outline board and less fast than the starboard 12’6 Touring. This does however make it more stable and allow you to carry more gear. We will do into a lot more detail in the head to head test. These… Read more »
Hi guys…great review as always…I see below you talking about doing a head to head of the Starboard inflatable touring and the Red 13.2 Voyager sometime soon…any chance you could add the SIC Okeanos airglide into that head to head….pure selfishness as those are the three boards I’m trying to decide between. Cheers, stay safe!
Ok I will see what we can do and try and get hold of the SIC too.
Cheers, that would be great! No worries if you can’t though.
