If you're into paddling flat water... and I mean really flat water... this could be the board for you. For paddling the early morning glass offs up rivers or paddling big calm open lakes, it really looks like Starboard have the answer with their new 2020 Waterline.
With its super flat rocker line and its water piercing nose, the Waterline ensures the whole of the boards ‘waterline’ is in the water. This will give you the most effortless glide per paddle stroke. In both its 14’0″ x 28″ / 12’6″ x 28″ sizes it really looks like Starboard have included some great features to the whole board – top and bottom. We always like to see new innovation coming into the SUP market. Things that inspire us to paddle more and find new places. Without a doubt the new 2020 Starboard Waterline will get you searching for that flat water perfection!
Starboard say;
This paddle board is designed as a specialised flat-water Touring paddle board. The Waterline promises the smoothest and most relaxing paddling sensation in conditions up to chin high chop.
A shape focused on achieving maximum speed and stability with no splash or sound.
At 75% speed this hull is faster than our race boards, so in essence for most riders it’s the quickest ride ever.
Very nice Board! Looking forward to see/read a review of this new flatwater machine.
Have you done a review yet of this board? I’d also like to know how easy it hard it is to repair any dings, coming from inflatable that’s my main worry..m
Hey Fudge fixing dings on hard board is very easy. For most cases its just a case of making the board water tight again.
When it comes to spraying or painting repairs, thats when it becomes harder to do.
But sorry we haven’t got a review of the Waterline coming this year yet. We have just been working on the Generation review at the moment. But I can say if you are after a flat water weapon the Waterline is so good. I have heard great things about its flat water performance.
Soon as I got mine home I was taking it off truck and a gust of wind caught it and I dinged it on driveway. Just minor damage but was easy to repair. Same as body work on a vehicle. It is a bit on the frail side. Be careful with it.
I am really tempted to get this board but wonder how it will do on the lake when it’s not absolute glass. Anyone tried it?
We are very keen to get our hands on one – the shape looks very refined for flat water. Any thing higher than shin high I think this board will struggle. Will- SUpboarder
I just got one and have only had it out once. Smooth water is amazing, had very small chop on far side of lake maybe 6 inches did not seem to affect it at all. Trying to get back out on water but weather has not been cooperating. I’m really excited about this board after my initial try.
