We always like to keep up to date with what’s happening in the industry with regards to new board shapes and designs… and ONE SUP have just released this video of their new Edge Pro 2.0.
They start the video talking about the nose and front section of the board, which to be honest we think looks very much like another board on the market! Nothing new…. but then when they move around the back and underneath of the board, we see a very different shape and design. Not what we expected at all. We love the new concept and the ideas behind it.
Have you used or seen one of these boards? If so we would love to hear your thoughts below please.
looking forward to when they eventually get delivered.
We are too, Maybe we can get ONE SUP to send us one for a pro test.
i have a 23.5 x 14 hollow, its quick, am quicker on it than my old 23 sprint. has less primary than the sprint but secondry kicks in with the rails. Normal padding wings dont touch the water. I’m still getting used to the ramp to get on the tail, but once there i can get the wings engaged which makes it quite stable on back of board. Big nose does make turning from down to upwind interesting as it tries to blow nose back to downwind.
Thanks George. Good to hear all the feedback
Hi
I would love to see a test of this board 🙂
It seems completely different from other flat water boards. If what they claim in the video is true, this board could be quite amazing.
Yes it would be great to get a test of this one. We will try!
yes i am proud owner of a edge pro 2 elite carbon hollow 23.5. It is a fast board that responds very nicely to a smooth stroke. It is very quickly upto speed and once there maintains it with minimum porpoise given its so rigid. The wings for me dont engage until i step back, and this then adds stability for the turn. You do need to lift nose to get the board to turn and turning up into the wind the large nose will catch the wind. However the board for me is faster than my old (2017) sprint… Read more »
Thanks so much for the feedback George. It’s always great to hear what the board owners think of their boards. I still haven’t managed to get one to have a go on yet☹️.
Hi George,
I’ve been looking for the reviews of the Hollow Elite and I’m deciding between the 21.5 vs the 23.5. How much do you weigh? I’m 170, I’m not sure if the 21.5 will be under volume for my size
i’m 167, on the 23.5 i dont take water when stationary, never been on the 21.5 so cant really answer the question. If my dog comes on she is an extra 44 and when stationary i’m very close to taking on water, it drains as soon as i move if any does come in.
Loving my new Edge Pro 2.0 Hollow 21.5″. Heavy smoke over the past weeks from wildfires has kept me from paddling it as much as I had planned, but from the dozen or so times I’ve been out on it I can say it performs as advertised. I stepped down from an old Lahui Kai carbon race 24″ (flat bottom and sharp edges), so initially the board felt quite tippy. However, I quickly got used to the feel of the new board and learned to trust it (plus the secondary stability from the high sides is amazing). Once up to… Read more »
Hi Aaron thanks for your top feedback on this. Really great to read some real world feedback from a board user. Im glad you are loving the board and I hope you get out more soon and the fires calm down. Nice Pic!
Thanks Reuben! Also, I noticed on Instagram last night that some of the ONE Edge Pro 2.0s are coming with a full length deck pad and some have non-skid like on a boat deck between the standing area and the rear deck pad. Mine is the latter, and thus my being able to add a couple pieces of deck pad as landmarks. Nor sure if the attached pic came through to show this…
Ok Sounds interesting. No the pic didn’t come through. Try again or ping it over to me at reuben@supboardermag.com
Deck detail…
Nice
thank you Aaron for the pointer on getting the step back turns, i was struggling with them and you are spot on about the centre line. I put a marker down that i can feel on the centre line and now transition to tail is 100%. Once you get to the tail board is stable but getting back hull makes it a little tippy if you are not on the centre line. Board is fast and now i am getting in the turns.
