The GT came to life after we developed the all new line of Allwater Race boards. When we realized how stable, fast and easy to paddle this shape was we immediately knew that we found the ideal formula for a performance oriented tourer. We added 2” of width compared to the widest Race boards and invested into a set of molds for the 2 new Allwater GT sizes. This has allowed us to offer the boards at a competitive price. The main strong points of this magic shape are; high volume in the nose and the tail area for lift and stability in all conditions, wide square tail and the concave bottom for ultimate in stability and water line efficiency. The boards work great in rough water conditions, on downwind runs and in flat water – the true Allwater shape. The bungee tie downs for “carry-on” items make sure you have everything for a comfortable cruise. The Allwater GTs come in the BIAX technology and the classic Wood Edition technology.
So I got the 12’6 JP Allwater GT – 2021 edition in BIAX construction. It is virtually the same as the one reviewed by the Supboarder staff – with the exception that the main colour is orange and there is a kick pad. Because the delivery was expected to be delayed, the seller offered me to exchange the 12’6 for a 14’ at no additional cost (usually the 14’ is 100€ more expensive) but I turned down that offer.
