What we say
Naish have been in this wing foil market from the ‘get go’ and when we reviewed the original Matador Wing surfer last year it was a real step up in wing riding performance from Naish. With more power than any other Naish wings we had ridden, the Matador was a great wing for not only all weight riders in the surf, but also mid to heavy weight free-ride blasters too.
So in this review, a year later, we have the new Naish Matador LT wing to play on.

Got a question about this product?
Pros: Loads of power, light in the hands and easy to throw around. A joy to use in the surf and for riding all bumps. Good upwind performance. New 6m size.
Cons: LEASH! The coiled leash is a pain when it gets kinks and stretched in the surf.
Consider buying if... You are wanting to do any type of surf or bump riding and/or you are wanting to have more power for the size of wing. The Matador LT is also an understated freeride wing.

What the brand says
The Matador LT takes the Wingsurfer Matador and makes it even leaner and meaner. With the same basic outline, shape, and overall structure of the Matador, the Matador LT remains a powerful and stable wing. But sometimes less is more. For an even lighter overall weight, the Matador LT comes with a window-free canopy and with no removable Y-Handles. Strut shape and diameter have been modified to provide even tighter canopy tension and an additional boost in overall power. Where the Matador has five individual strut handles, two in the front and three in the back, the LT has only three - wide ergonomic grab handles. If you want all the power and stability, but with the minimum swing weight possible for flagging on bumps, swells, and waves, the Matador LT does more with less!
I bought the 5m & 4m Matador LT based on your advice and I have really enjoyed using them. A short history on the wings I’ve used in the past. I started winging with the Airush V1 6m, then quickly bought a 4m, then a 5m. I then upgraded to the Airush V2 wings, 6, 5 & 4m. I started on GONG foils and boards and then in January 2022 upgraded to the Armstrong FG 115L Wing SUP board with the magical Armstrong HS1550 V2 Foil. I am currently 95kg. After using the Naish 5m & 4m Matador LT wings… Read more »
Thanks for a top comment Ciaran. And well done for bring the other points about the front handle up. And Im glad you have said about the leash and how you have found it ok to use. Maybe Im being overly critical of it but like you said after one wipeout in the surf and I end up with a bag of spaghetti on my arm I’m sort of over it. But yes on flatwater it does work well. I haven’t used a 4m but I bet it would be a little beauty when the wind gets up. Happy winging… Read more »
