What we say
For 5 years we have been reviewing Naish wings, from the original Wing Surfer all the way up to the newest Matador LT. And it’s fair to say that the basic elements of all these wings have been very similar…. until now! The new ADX is very different from the previous wings, with a more high aspect outline shape, a V dihedral making a tighter preloaded canopy and finished with hard handles. All this makes the ADX very different compared to the previous wings. The older Matadors worked well for many wingers, but as the sport progressed it was clear to see that they worked better in the surf than for pure all round freeriders. The New ADX really does plug the gap in the freeride market, where the Matador wasn’t able to keep up with the new generation of freeriders wanting to jump higher, fly faster or transition quicker.
Got a question about this product?
Pros: Well made, great positive lift for jumps and tacks, direct responsive feel - due to tighter canopy and dihedral
Cons: Harder to turn over, not as stable when getting back on board and ready to fly
Consider buying if... you a looking for a great all round fun freeride wing that flys upwind and keeps you foiling through every transition. This wing is going to put a smile on the face of many intermediate/ advanced freeride wingers.

What the brand says
The Wing-Surfer ADX is the culmination of five years of research and development, resulting in a wing that caters to all skill levels and riding styles. The perfect balance of wingspan, strut length, draft depth, and dihedral make the ADX a revolutionary wing in our product lineup. The high-tension canopy, combined with the shallow wing profile, provides power on demand. This design profile produces incredible get-up-and-go functionality, lifting even heavy riders onto the foil with ease and maintaining steadily balanced power once riding. The lightweight yet robust T-Bone construction provides stiffness and strength in the wing's center while allowing the wingtips to twist properly. The 50D Nano ripstop canopy is low-stretch and tear-resistant, ensuring the ADX can handle even the most intense conditions. The ADX puts strength where you need it, with everything else remaining light. The result is a wing that lives up to its name, The Wingsurfer Aero-Dynamic-Xtreme, a wing that you will enjoy session after session.
In the review you guys comparing it all the time with the matador, but although i get that from a brand perspective it would be imo more useful to compare with similar wings from other brands. (i did 😉 I demo-ed the ADX in 5.5 two times. I,m 97kg using it on a 90l AK Phazer and with my KT4.5x56l with a Cabrinha H1000 foil. I ride strapless so I don,t jump (on purpose) but do waveride, tack etc. The profile is even stiffer as the aluula Unit Dlab 5.5 I own and the Vayuu I tried, but it is… Read more »
Hey Jeroen , Thanks for noting down your feedback of the ADX and other wings. Really very interesting.
TBH we wanted to have this wing for longer to put it more head to head against other wings. But I do hear and agree with many of your comments.
And also interesting to get your surf performance of the ADX.
Maybe its time we do another 5m wing test!?
Thanks again, Reuben
Absolutely!
There are plenty good wings out there but the differences between them in feel and performance are imo also pretty big and the landscape is changed a lot since your last 5m test.
All wings has become more powerfull, stiffer/more tensioned and more high lift.
You can say that again !
