A unique endurance paddle event in the United States is returning this summer, combining long-distance paddling with charity fundraising. The Dam to Dam Paddleboard Event will take place on 12 June 2026, organised by the 24 Foundation. The event sees participants paddle a 24-mile route along the Catawba River system, starting at Mount Holly Boat Landing and finishing at Tega Cay Beach Club.
Rather than being a traditional race, Dam to Dam is designed as an endurance journey, with paddlers expected to spend up to 10–11 hours on the water completing the course.
The event is limited to a small group of participants and can be completed either solo or as a two-person relay team, where paddlers alternate between the board and a support boat during the day.
Safety boats, rest stops and meals are provided along the route, helping paddlers manage the physically demanding challenge. The event concludes with a celebration and awards gathering for participants and supporters.
Dam to Dam also serves as a fundraising initiative, with each paddler committing to raise a minimum of $1,500 to support cancer programs run by the 24 Foundation.
While competitive paddlers take part, the focus of the event is community and purpose, bringing together cancer survivors, caregivers and supporters for a shared endurance challenge on the water.
Applications for the 2026 event are currently open, with participants selected ahead of the June paddle.
