The Sayulita SUP Open returned to Mexico this past weekend, bringing together international and local paddlers for a mix of SUP surf and racing disciplines in the surf town of Sayulita.
Conditions across the event saw small but contestable surf for the SUP surf divisions, while the racing programme ran in warm, glassy conditions, allowing athletes to push hard across the technical and distance race formats.
The event featured a wide range of divisions including junior, open and masters categories, along with overall Waterman and Waterwoman titles awarded to the most consistent competitors across disciplines.

With its mix of racing, surf competition and a strong community atmosphere, the Sayulita SUP Open continues to be one of the more unique events on the SUP calendar. While small surf made for challenging conditions in the SUP surf divisions this year, the warm water, sunny weather and lively beach scene ensured a great weekend of paddling in one of Mexico’s most iconic surf towns.
