For the women’s race Mariecarmen Rivera put down another fantastic performance to claim the win. Keeping her stiff opposition at bay, she sustained the lead from start to finish. One of the world’s best, Duna Gordillo took second place and got very close to the winner on a great showing. On her first #eurotour competition Annabel Page impressed everyone I third. Another first timer in 4th was Maddie Leblanc solid all event. Closing the Top5 was Brianna Orams with a great pace.

For the men’s, Shuri Araki is clearly the world’s best paddler at the moment, after a terrible start he came back on the downwind leg, leaving literally everyone in the dust, catching every wave and bump available for first place. With his best performance on tour Fernando Perez Serra showed great shape in second. Leading the race in the early stages  Donato Freens is always right at the top. The windy conditions today are Arthur Arutkin’s specialty, being near the winners all race for 4th. After a very consistent race Blue Ewer closed the Top5 not far behind.

The kids race in the afternoon was the best part of the venue, with some tight racing and lots of smiles. We really want to thank Lucia, Marta, the entire crew of volunteers & all the staff at #atenasplaya for flawlessly running the event. Their enthusiasm and willingness to help & accommodate everyone is key for its continuous success.
