So my first board is coming i end up getting a retrospec weekender 10′ inflatable stand up board, Would you say this is a ok board to start on also how long do you think i should stay on this board tell i move over to a hard board?, Not sure if i made a good choice but at the time of the order i had no idea how many types of board you can get so i guess you could call it a noob rider buy :). It will be interesting to see how well your balance is on the 10′ board. It’s 30″ wide which could be considered quite small to start out, but that depends on your size. If you’re a lighter weight rider (under 70kg) and shorter than average, then it would be ok. But it might be slightly wobbly for the first few tries. If you can get used to it on the flat water and have no issues, then you’ll really enjoy it and could upgrade quite soon. Good luck and keep us updated
Great news i had zero issues ridding the board. I did fell off about three times but after that everything just started to click. Thank you Beau for all the help also input. I had so much fun i think for next summer i will just go get a hard board :).
I took my new Starboard surf deluxe 4.75 inch thick isup to Tofino in August. I stood up 5 or 6 times.Previously, I took 2 lessons and tried standing up for 3 seasons but never could.. This is a great learning board in my opinion. Far easier than the class prone long boards I tried .Very pricey but I can cross surfing off my bucket list now if I want and get back to the couch 🙂
