Gavin Symonds explores World War II forts on a 31km paddle offshore from the the Isle of Sheppey in the UK.
Earlier this summer, Gavin took a trip to the Isle of Sheppey to explore an old WWII fort called Redsands Fort which sits 16km out to sea. Gavin used vectoring with the tides to plan his paddle which means he was always paddling with the tide and in the direction it is moving. Of course, making sure he had fair weather and plenty of fluids and food is key when planning a paddle such as this.
Good work Gav!
