Great post – I’ve paddled (mainly kayak) on the sea a fair amount & have some appreciation of how quickly apparently benign conditions can change! I’ve just come back from Cornwall where the lifeguards were kept pretty busy with iSUP’ers getting in trouble in force 5+ off-shore winds – when combined with strong tides / currents it made for a challenging paddling environment for the inexperienced.

So true Pete. This video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PENeNhoYWg and the whole SUP safe series https://supboardermag.com/supsafe/ is a great one to share with any paddlers who you think aren’t aware of this too. Happy paddling Reuben
