It is common to see a raised bump on the bottom of your inflatable SUP, but is it something you should be concerned about?
Before you start calling up and sending the board back within the warranty, make sure you watch this video which explains why it’s there and how it is caused.
Drop Stitch is a thread material that is connected to both the top and bottom inside PVC layers of your board. When you inflate the iSUP, the threads tighten and give the board its shape. The only space where drop stitch is not found, is directly beneath the valve point on your inflatable SUP. This is because they need the space to insert and connect the valve to the board – which is why you will see a bump under the valve point.
We hope this video helps you to understand why this occurs.
