Travel With A Paddle took a trip to the Isles of Scilly and they documented their paddleboarding escapades. They also compiled a handy packing video for you to follow on your next SUP adventure!
“SUP is the perfect way to explore this incredible small archipelago situated off the south west coast of the UK. White sandy beaches, green rolling hills, clear blue water and awesome rock formations created a contrast that felt almost like we were on a tropical island. Yet, we weren’t far from home at all.
We were some of the only people paddling through the Isles, so we took this opportunity to explore most of the surrounding waterways and its wildlife. The highlight of our visit was definitely swimming with the friendly seals. Our Marine Biologist, Clare, was helpful in letting us know how to encounter the seals without disturbing them – to not get too close or we would scare the seal pups and also how to respect the ocean to make sure the environment is clean so future generations can enjoy it as we did.
There’s plenty more to the Scilly’s than meets the eye and exploring by SUP around secluded coasts gave us a glimpse that not many others would see. We would both highly recommend visiting the Isles of Scilly and adventuring off with your SUP.”
