Hi Reuben, thank you very much for the really comprehensive video and test which made me curious to try Winging once we can go out again 😉 Would you be able to give a recommendation on what the low end wind limit for the S25 in 5.3m2 is – and if possible also for the 6.0. I am usually using my Foil SUP with a windsurf sail if it gets to windy to go foiling and would like to compare what the lowest wind limit (in knots) is with a 5.3 or 6.0 Naish S25. Thanks a lot in advance.… Read more »
Hey, Thanks for the question. I will look into the table from Naish. But getting up on your foil with a wing does come down to a few things ,body weight, technique, foil size and of course how big your wing is. For me at 75kg. And using a 1800cm2 foil. I can get up with the Naish 5.3m in about 10knts. But when you are on the foil you can keep on the foil in less then that. the 6m wing I’m guessing about 7-9knts?!But getting up on the foil early is all about good technique.

I have the s25 6m Wing Surfer and am loving it. Great low end and still manageable above it’s nominal top end. Have lent it to a friend and my wife and they felt the same but both (being less experienced) got into trouble with leash length in the water: if you end up at the trailing edge the leash is not long enough to allow getting the leading edge back to you easily. If your skill level is high enough you likely won’t even notice but your point about the leash not being elastic is a valid one in… Read more »
Hey Andy , Thanks for added your thoughts about the S25 here. It’s so important we hear what owners of these wings really like and dislike. For a leash I have used a modern windsurf up haul rope and I have also used a coiled body board leash too. Both work well. Stay safe and you will be back on the water soon.
