Wow, amazing job. Thank you. I’m not the Racing-guy, but Innovations, Performance and Fittings of the Brands are always interesting. I’m keen on the new Starboard Generation 2020 which should have a similar bottomshape as the Allstar. Could be a looser or a winner- what Do you think? Cheers
Hey Kurt. The Generation is a board that has caught our eye for sure. The bottom shape is kind of the same as the All Star but the Gen has much bigger concaves which will give it a much more stable ride. But it does have a Vee too which should give lift in the same way as the All Star. The Gen will be a much easy and more comfortable board to use. You could do so much with a board like this. We look forward to getting on the water with it soon.
Thx for quick response Reuben – yeah it would be nice to get your experience on the SB Gen. You always hit the nail

Outstanding board review the best I have ever seen, I ride a Blitz 2019 26wide my question is are you doing a review on dugouts? What do you think to them? Regards Paul
Thanks Paul. We haven’t actually had that much experience with dugout boards really. I do like the open flat deck boards regs, the freedom of being to move around the board when downwinding. This is something we should maybe look into doing a feature on them.

Very impressive, informative, educational and useful. Please keep up these awesome reviews. I know they are a ton of work and the SUP world appreciates it more than you know. Would love to see a similar shootout with narrower flat water boards as well. Would like to see fin and paddle shootouts also if you’re looking for more ideas. Thank You Thank You Thank You!
Thanks for the feedback – good to hear you enjoyed it. Yes we hope to do paddle and fin tests in the future, they are just as important as teh boards – we just need the brands to support with gear!

Amazing job ! Thanx for this test … When you test boards can you specify where they are made please ? I think it’s important in 2019/2020 to be an conscioussness paddler and, if it’s important for you as a customer, to make enter the ethical/ecological impact on the balance when you buy a SUP. Regards.
The 425pro is made in Latvia, Europe. The rest are China, Thailand and Vietnam . Thanks, Will – SUPboarder

great review as always !! personally, if i was looking at one of these wider boards, it would be more for long distance paddles, so i’d really like tie down points. i do enjoy the SB touring board, but i find it’s just too wide. A 26-27″ board would be great for covering the distance.
i guess now you’ve done the race boards, next will be the race paddle tests? 😉
Hi Jonny .Yeah that would be nice. We haven’t got it planned in yet but if you guys are asking for it we will try and get it sorted. Thanks for the comment and support as always.

Great review – that takes a lot of work – get average speeds is very difficult. Thanks for posting and look forward to other tests. Are you considering any testing of downwind boards?
Hay Bing, The new SIC works in the same conditions as the older board it has just had some very subtle refinement tweaks in 2020 making the board a little bit faster and a bit more user-friendly.

Hi Guys, Hope you’re all well. During locked down I have been eyeing the new Starboard Generation, can you hurry up and test it please, your opinion would be really useful as it’s a lot of dosh for the carbon wood version, Cheers Roger
Well Roger. You are in luck because we got dropped off an 12’6×28″ Carbon, last night and it’s sat here looking at me now . The shape of the board looks great which is always a good sign. Give us a few weeks with it and it will be live. Sorry for delay the lockdown put us back a few weeks because we couldn’t get kit or go paddling…but not now!
Hi Ronseal, I have spoken the the team and they are looking into you account. But they said its quite likely to be your caching on your computer. Try to clear your cache if you can or try a browser that you haven’t used before to visit page and sign in again. Let us know how you get on.
Great stuff. Thanks for the message back and for the support with Pro. Any question please ask.

Hi, I am new subcriber (actually two hours ago). Im looking for a all water conditions board that can be used for racing as well as fitness. The main issue I have found is finding aboard that will support my size. I am 194 in height and currently 92kg. Most 26 boards dont seem to support that level of weight, although I believe the Starboard Allstar 26 will. Reuben do you have any suggestions?
Hi there – Thanks for your question, Reubens actually away this week, but I will make sure he gets back to you on this one next week as he is the best one of the team to respond 🙂
Hey, Thanks for joining pro. It was good having Harry our SUPboarder blogger there and testing some of the kit. He is the similar weight as you but taller and he found some of the boards easier than others. But the Starboard offer him the least stability. The Infinity Black Fish was a winner for him. What sort of board widths have you used it the passed?
It would be ok, but if its a flat water lake most of the time(not windy) you could go for a board with a flatter rocker line. It really depends on if you are just wanting a fast board, which the fanatic would be, or a board that is very Competitive at races when every second counts. Make sense? The Starboard Sprint would still be my flatwater choice!

Hello there. Wow, very very nice review, covers so much topics in detail. Im though a little disappointed that this year you are not going to have a new 2021 comparison! I really like the NSP Carolina, but I haven’t been able to find any decent review of it. Do you have any experience of this board? Thanks! Dimitris
Hey Dimitris, Yeah it was great fun that test . But it was very hard work trying to get all the gear to us. We may look at doing it again in years to come. I haven’t used the NSP but it does look like a great board. We will contact NSP and see what we can do. But sourcing these big boards is always the problem. Thanks for the comment.

How do I watch this full video? I’m subscribed but all I can find is the short video telling mee how great the long video is!
Sound like a browser cache issue – first try reloading the page a few time and if no success, clear your browser cache, or use a ‘private’ browser window. Sorry, we cant do a lot to prevent this as its all controlled by user browser settings.

Hi, This test was nice as boards like this are not easy to find and test. However there was not many dugouts which have almost completely taken over the race scene. Also 2 years have passed. Please make an allwater dugout race board comparison now.

Reuben – Noticed you had done a review of the older version of the SIC RS – is the newer board more for flatwater conditions?

Despite being a Pro Subscriber I can’t seem to view this board test, I can only see the 1:37 preview clip.
Hi Ronseal, Hmm thats no good. Let me get one of the team to look into it. Sorry about that.

All sorted now Reuben, thanks for the advice, I simply tried a different browser and all sorted. A superb review by the way, thank you.

What’s you thoughts on the Fanatic ‘Blitz’?
Overall its a great board and a real winner in open waters and downwinding. Easy to use for a full on race weapon
So, most of my paddling is on the lake, does the Blitz fit?

Yeah getting all this kit was a bit of a nightmare but It could be time to go again.
Thanks for the test recommendation.
A flat water version would also be appreciated
Thanks for your comment Nick
thanks guy’s, worth the subscription price for this alone. Personally I found it very helpful as the local shops do not have demo boards.
Fab thanks Matthew
