This is a very simple little video by surfer Rick Weeks, edited by SUPthecreek. Rick is SUP surfing a big board, a very big board! At 14′ long this board will be catching anything and super early too. But when it comes to turns if you’re not in the right place, it’s just not going to happen. Just check out the clip at 26secs. Is this happening to you on a wave??
If it is then as Rick says “simple foot placement is all that is needed”.
By moving your feet back on the board and allowing your body weight to be further back will turn even the biggest of boards. It doesn’t have to be far, even one step further back might be enough to make your big board turn more, just like that performance shape you have been dreaming of.
Thanks to Rick Weeks for uploading this video which shows what can be done with just a little more foot placement towards the tail.
