The latest video and board details about the all new JP Surf Slate has got us very excited. After reviewing the smallest and biggest JP Surf Slate in the 2016/17 shape we are loving the look of the changes that JP has made to the new 2018 model.
More pulled in at the tail and nose
Better looking tail pad and raised centre arch EVA pad
A little bit longer in overall length in all the models
Tougher rail constructions
Totally new tail shape
The Surf Slate was a fun board before and wow was it fast, but we always felt that the tail shape of the board could be more pulled in to improve turning performance. On the new promo video, it looks like the bottom turns and the ability to drive the board up the face vertically is definitely more achievable now.
We love the fact that JP Australia have taken this epic board back to the shaping floor and made these changes. We can’t wait to get our hands on one of these new Slates.
BUT… like all boards we don’t really know how it performs until we get it on a wave, so look out for the SUPboarder review to see what the JP Australia Surf Slate is really like!
