This stunning video of winter SUP paddling on Lake Superior from Jared Munch really shows what water can look like at below freezing.
‘Winter SUP (Stand up paddle board) on Lake Superior. Shot throughout the months on January and February 2015, this video captures the lake’s stunning scenes. -20 degree Fahrenheit air drives the steam out of the lake as shown early in the video. The locals call it sea smoke. Wave action coats the shoreline in ice to create a surreal paddling experience. Shot on Minnesota’s North Shore of Lake SUPerior in Tettegouche state park and all along the shore.
Side note: Precautions were taken when paddling long distances to make this video. Paddling in this climate requires the right gear and skills.’ : Jared Munch
