The ticket line for the National Watersports Festival (NWF), which takes place between 4 – 6th September on Hayling Island, is open and early bird discounts are up for grabs!
Around 500 competitors from the windsurfing, kitesurfing, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding communities will converge on Hayling Island for three days of back-to-back action. Spectators – in the region of 10,000 last year – are invited to attend for free and get to experience many of the festival’s raft of activities, including watching the full-on racing during the day and floodlit spectacle at night.
A full ‘Festival Experience’ ticket for competitors includes 3.5 days parking and camping, three days of on-water activities, racing, demos, clinics, taster sessions, party ticket for entry to both nights and the option to purchase an official NWF T shirt at cost price. Additional party tickets and add-ons can be purchased, so just visit www.nationalwatersportsfestival.com for all the ticket information and prices.
“The NWF isn’t just another watersports event, the NWF offers so much more,” explain Allan Cross, event director. “We’re inviting individuals to immerse themselves into a true festival environment that provides parties, live music, camping, food and drink venues as well as offering all the racing, demos, trade shows and racing pros you’d expect with an event of this calibre.”
New to this year will be the opportunity to purchase either a one or two day entry to the festival, which will help cater for those individuals who have other commitments but still want to be part of an epic weekend.
This year The Heathrow Jets will be playing on Friday night and Andy Lewis and his band, The Perfect Blue will be rocking the house on Saturday night with a fancy dress theme of mods & rockers!
The NWF Trade Show will return where the industry’s best will be promoting their latest products and services, showcasing what’s new for the season. Last year an interesting assortment of props were rolled in from a couple of tons of sand to a complete surf bar (complete with cocktails)!
New for NWF 2015 will be a designated area for family camping, offering a quieter location for the kids, away from the hardened party animals who are naturally also catered for! There will be new camping guidelines for visiting guests, all of which is available on the website.
This year there will be a Howard Plumb Memorial Race, being held on the Saturday, which will commemorate an incredible life, fantastic windsurfing talent and the achievements of a very loved individual. Further information is available from the website nationalwatersportsfestival.com/all-events/hayling-island/windsurfing/howard-plumb/
Allan concludes: “The NWF is a community event that is only possible thanks to the trade element and our ever faithful supporters.
“With the usual price of camping on Hayling seafront costing £20 alone, without any elements of a festival thrown in, we’re confident we’re continuing to provide value for money and look forward to delivering another iconic NWF. Bring it on!”
