What about this for something new on the market?! Laird has just released this video of his new ‘Surrator’ board in the Laird Stand Up range.
There has been talk in the surf world for a while now about Laird’s new board shape. The Surrator as the name implies has surrated rails from the mid section towards the tail of the board. This is meant to create traction, reduce drag and produce more grip in the turns. It sounds like it does it all and from the video it does look like it catches waves early too. But there have been many board shapes in the past with different rail shapes and bottom types/profiles. Is this just another one that tries to change the wheel and fails? It has obviously got Laird’s attention as a winner but we’ll have to wait and see how it goes down with riders in different conditions around the world.
One thing is for sure… it’s a ding repairers worst nightmare with angles everywhere!
