US Trilogy Stop Number 1 is postponed to September to align with Huntington
The first stop of the 2014 US Trilogy has been postponed from its original date of the 8th – 10th August in Chicago, to September, aligning directly with the Huntington Beach Pro Grand Slam which will take place from the 15th – 21st September (featuring both Stand up World Tour & World Series competitions). The provisional date to be confirmed over the next week or so will be the 26th – 28th September, following directly on from Huntington.
The reason for this shift is due to curcumstances out of our control, however it should be noted that the shift to align with the Huntington Beach Pro will allow just one major US trip in September for visiting athletes rather than the 2 that the August stop would have made necessary.
This also stands more inline with the directive for 2015, where Stand Up World Series legs will see defined regional legs to allow athletes to maximize their stay in each global region and minimize the travel and expense.

Next up on the European Cup: Midnight Racing in Finland & Germany World Series
After 2 dramatic stops in Bilbao, Spain and then Oleron, France, the European Cup is now well underway and the action and fierce competition is only intensifying. WIth Zane Schweitzer (Starboard) currently leading the Men’s Cup and a tie in the women’s division, awaiting the next stop to break it, tension is mounting as we look ahead to the forthcoming events.
Next up is the Sieravuori SUP Masters in Finland, taking place from the 3rd – 5th July. The uniqueness of the location is already stunning, but this coupled with Racing at midnight in broad day light will make this an event to remember, as the World Challenger Series and the European Cup heads north. Event, entry and transfer information from Helsinki for this $10,000 stop is available by going to the European Cup page
It is then onto Fehmarn Germany for the Camp David World Cup of SUP, stop number 3 of both the 2014 Stand Up World Series, but also the European Cup. With a new location this year and boasting $25,000 of prize-money, all eyes will be on Fehmarn from the 18th – 20th July as we will see if Connor Baxter (Starboard) and Angie Jackson (Fanatic) can maintain their ratings leads amidst the ever increasing competition. Once again, all entry and event information is available on the European Cup page.
The final stop of the European Cup will see athletes head south once again, this time to the outskirts of Rome in Italy. Santa Severa Beach and its well established Surf Expo will play host to the $10,000 5th and final stop of the 2014 European Cup, as an anticipated 30,000 people will pass through this event over the weekend and a festive atmosphere will celebrate the close of what has already been a phenomenal run of events on the European Cup.

We celebrated international Surfing Day with a look back at the Sunset Beach Pro
The Sunset Beach Pro has seen some of the most dramatic stand up paddle surfing in the sport’s history, as high surf advisories have pummelled Oahu’s North Shore 4 out of the 5 years the event has been in existence.
This shot was from the first year, 2010, where people’s minds were altered as to what was possible on a Stand Up Board. Here we see Kala Alexander quite literally riding a mountain.
A taste of what is to come in 2015 as the World Tour continues to evolve and will bring the World’s best back home to Oahu’s North Shore in February for the prestigious Tour Opener.
Happy International Surfing Day and stay tuned to www.watermanleague.com
